Tiny Tome No. 1

Once upon a time, not long ago, an old lady sitting next to me said “tell me a story I don’t already know”

I thought for a moment, she twiddled her thumbs, every story I started she said “I already heard that one”

She then asked two questions, I will not soon forget, “What is your story?" and "Have you told it yet?”

I paused for a moment, wondering what to say, she said “tell me about your most memorable day”

As I started speaking she stood up and proceeded to walk away

Looking over her shoulder at my face quite dazed she said: “Finding your voice is how your story begin... living will reveal its middle and end. Make me a promise, before you leave that bench, never lose your voice or your story again”

I nodded my head, now brandishing a smile, contemplating her words simple yet potent and wise.
